Samsung India launched its flagship Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch at an event in New Delhi, today.
The electronics giant has revealed that the third-generation Galaxy phablet will be priced ₹49,900, whereas the smartwatch would be marketed for ₹22,990. Both devices are said to hit stores on 25 September.
Samsung fans who are eager to get their hands on the new Galaxy gadgets, can place pre-orders on the company's official e-store. They will have the option to place the order on a combo deal, consisting of both Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear for ₹2,000 or book only the phablet for the same advance amount.

Online retailers, Flipkart, Home Shop 18 and Infibeam have also begun taking pre-orders for the new Galaxy phablet, whereas Saholic has just listed the Galaxy Note 3 as 'Coming Soon'.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen having full HD 1920x1080p display resolution and ships with the latest Android mobile OS v4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.
The new phablet packs Samsung's in-house built Exynos 5420 Octa-Core chipset (it houses two quad-core processors-A15 1.9 GHz and A7 1.3 GHz). It boasts of 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
The third-generation Galaxy phablet flaunts a 13.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front side with full HD video recording capability. It is to be noted that the main camera can record ultra HD 4K (3840x2160p), twice the quality of current full HD (1920x1080p) video standard. It also boasts of high CRI LED flash support to get quality crisp pictures under low-light condition.
Galaxy Note 3 will come with S Pen stylus functionalities that feature Air Command, Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder, Pen Window S Note, Multi Window, new Easy Clip, and Direct Pen Input.
Samsung Galaxy Gear:
Galaxy Gear sports a1.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 320x320p resolution and houses a 1.9-megapixel camera which boasts of BSI sensor and auto-focus feature. It has the capability to record HD 720p video.
In terms of internal hardware, Galaxy Gear packs an 800 mAh processor backed by a 315 mAh Li-Ion battery. It ships with 512MB RAM, 4GB memory and also comes with two microphones and a speaker.
Using Innovative S-Voice functionality and Bluetooth v4.0 LE (Low-Energy) technology inside Galaxy Gear, users can sync data between the smartwatch with the Galaxy Note 3 wirelessly. They can also place or answer calls using these features as well.
The new smartwatch comes pre-loaded with Safety Assistance applications, which comes in handy during an emergency situation. The user has to press power button three times in quick succession to initiate the app. Once activated, the smartwatch will automatically send the victim's geography data to a pre-designated set of people through SMS.
Other applications include Evernote watch app, which allows users to capture image and set it as a remainder. The e-Bay app helps user make online purchases and present all transactions in real time. The MyFitness Pal app tracks users' nutrition as well as exercise routines.
The only downside of Galaxy Gear is that the smartwatch is only compatible with a few Galaxy devices. As of now, it can work with Galaxy Note 3 and the newly unveiled Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) tablet.
Samsung has confirmed that the older Galaxy Devices - Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, will also be made compatible with Galaxy Gear once the company releases the Android v4.3 firmware next month.
The smartwatch is said to come in six colours - Jet Black, Mocha Gray, Wild Orange, Oatmeal Beige, Rose Gold and Lime Green.
