Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to Hit Stores on 20 September: Report

Apple's upcoming iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones will reportedly hit select major markets in the third week of September within few days of their unveiling.

Japanese website Nikkei claimed that new-generation iPhone5S and cheaper iPhone 5C smartphones will get unveiled on 10 September in San Francisco, US, and are expected to be made available in Japan on the 20th of the same month.

To further corroborate the report, Greek website Tech Maniacs citing their own informants have also concurred that both iPhones will be released on 20 September and have added that Apple would also roll out the full version of the new iOS v7.0 on 16 September.   

Going by Apple's previous iPhone launches, the Cupertino company is sure to release its new handsets first in US, Canada, UK and 20 plus major markets worldwide within a month of their unveiling and later in second-tier markets like China, India and other developing countries. Considering the report of huge Apple iPhone sales in India, it won't come as a surprise if the company decides to release iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C early in the sub-continent.

Apple's upcoming premium smartphone model, iPhone 5S, is said to feature a bulged home button for fingerprint scanner. Apart from that, it will keep the same physical form (4.0-inch screen) and design frame with a metallic finish as seen on the current iPhone 5 model.

The iPhone 5S will run on the new iOS v7.0 OS and may pack the new-generation A7 quad-core processor with 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and improved 13.0-megapixel main camera with dual-LED flash for taking good quality pictures under low -light environment.

Apart from the finger print scanning enabled home button, another major attraction is that the device may come in a third colour variant - 'Champagne Gold', along with traditional black and white models.

On the other hand, iPhone 5C is expected to sport a plastic body (probably polycarbonate material) with 3.5-inch screen and run on new iOS 7 powered by Apple A5 chipset. It is also expected to flaunt a 5.0-megapixel camera on rear side. Apple is reported to sell iPhone 5C with multiple colour options of black, white, red, blue, green and yellow.
