India's most popular smartphone maker Micromax on Friday (28 June) kick-started pre-booking registrations of its next-generation Canvas 4.
Without revealing the specs and price details, Micromax Mobiles has opened the pre-booking window for Canvas 4-A210 with ₹5,000 as advance payment, but with no EMI options. The good news is that prospective buyers are allowed to pay the remaining amount between 8 -15 July with EMI options of 3,6, 9 and 12 months of equal payments.
Once the final amount is settled, the new phone is expected to to be delivered within seven working days. The shipments will begin from 10 July onwards.
Micromax has also said that consumers will also have the option of cancelling their orders, but only between 8 - 15 July.
If the consumer fails to pay the remaining amount by 15 July, the order gets automatically cancelled. The buyer need not worry of losing the money they had spent for the pre-booking registration as the company has promised to return the ₹5,000 advance payment to the consumer's account.

That's not all, 10 lucky buyers who pre-book Canvas 4 before 6 July will have opportunity to attend the grand unveiling of Micromax Canvas 4 in Delhi on 8 July. The company will not bear the cost of travelling and the winners' accommodation charges.
Even before Micromax could officially unveil the specifications of Canvas 4 , popular online shopping portal Saholic has already listed Canvas 4 with speculated specs on its website last week. The website went on add that the new phone will be made available on 30 June, but this statement is bound to change as Micromax has officially claimed that the new Canvas 4 will be unveiled in the second week of next month.
The new Micromax phone is expected to arrive with a 5.0-inch plus TFT LCD Full HD screen, Android v4.2.2 OS, 1.7GHz quad-core processor having 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
Earlier teaser videos released by the company have pointed that the new Canvas 4 is most likely to come with a metal body case and a 13.0-megapixel main camera with LED flash support.
Just yesterday (27 June), Micromax had also released a teaser picture with a tagline that read - "CAN unlock without touch"- hinting the Canvas 4 might come with a new innovative screen un-locking feature, most probably a gesure control or a face-recognition based scanner.
Various reports suggest that the new Canvas 4 is likely to be priced between ₹15,000 to ₹20,000. If the rumours ring true, then Micromax has the potential to pose a threat to smartphone leader Samsung and other global as well as domestic brands in the country.
