In showbiz, everyone is replaceable.
It stung Arshad Warsi pretty bad when Akshay Kumar was roped in as the lead in "Jolly LLB 2," a franchise the former had worked in previously. And now, Arshad has replaced the "Rustom" star in "Aankhen 2," which was announced amid major celebrations in Mumbai.
Akshay was a part of "Aankhen," which hit the screens in 2002. "Aankhen 2" stars Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Regina Cassandra and Ileana D'Cruz.
When Arshad was asked about his thoughts on replacing Akshay in "Aankhen 2," he said: "Bahut Purani planning hai. Humne bachpan main socha tha kya karenge. It's a coincidence. It happens at times. Abhi isme koi kuch nahi hai. Hota hai aisa. Kabhi koi yeh role kar leta hai. So it's fine." (It's quite an old planning. We had thought about doing something like this when we were growing up. However, such things happen and there's nothing much to all this.)
This is a mature statement from the actor who appeared disappointed for not having made it in "Jolly LLB 2." Arshad may have expressed his displeasure, but was quite quick to acknowledge that Akshay is the perfect pick for the part.
"With me, you (the filmmakers) have to make a good film, so that is the problem. You can make money with me only if it's a very good film. If you have a bigger star, then even if the film is not that good, you still manage to cover the money. So the risk factor from the producer's point of view is less," Arshad explained.
Akshay responded to Arshad's comment saying that one must be able to take such incidents in his/ her stride and move past it as quickly as possible.
The second schedule of "Jolly LLB 2" has begun and the "court-drama" is expected to be wrapped up by end of September.
