Arsenal could only manage a fifth place finish in the 2016/17 Premier League season and for the first time missed out on a top four finish under Arsene Wenger. The Arsenal manager and the players managed to salvage some pride at the end of the season as they defeated Chelsea to win yet another FA Cup.
It will be really weird seeing Arsenal playing in the Europa League next season but they need to make the most of it at this point and go all the way and win it. The Gunners will be expected to make a number of signings over the summer as Wenger looks forward to mount a title challenge next season.

After Wenger signed his new two-year contract, the Frenchman said that he will be targeting a maximum of three signings. The Arsenal fans are really excited as he along with chief executive Ivan Gazidis were spotted in Nice recently. It's highly unlikely that the two of them were holidaying together in the South of France and that just means they were there on club business.

The Gunners have been linked with Jean Seri of Nice lately and that could be an explanation as to why Wenger and Gazidis were in Nice. Reports say that Arsenal have already held informal talks with Seri's agent and both the representatives are set to meet up in London next to continue talks.
Seri has been really impressive for Nice last season as he scored seven goals and assisted nine and helped his club to a third place finish. The Ivory Coast international is a central midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder and that's a position Arsenal could improve on next season.
Another possible reason for the Arsenal manager and chief executive to make the trip to Nice could be to hold talks over a possible move for Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.
Nice is just 13 miles from Monaco and reports say that Arsenal already had a €100 million bid rejected and could be looking to make an improved bid as they try to attract the hottest prospect in world football to the Premier League.
And finally, Alexandre Lacazette could be another reason for them making the trip. The Lyon striker made it clear that he wants to leave France this summer and after his move to Atletico Madrid failed due to their transfer ban, the French striker could be on Arsenal's radar as he did not rule out a move to the Emirates stadium.
