Top Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester City have been dealt a serious blow, as Schalke 04 chairman Clemens Tonnies has made it clear that Julian Draxler would not move during the January transfer window.
It is not for the first time that top EPL clubs have shown interest in Schalke 04 star.
It was only a few days earlier that some media reports stated Manchester City's interest in the player, as they were planning a £25 million bid for the star player.
Arsenal's long-term target might have been used in a deal with Manchester City, as Schalke 04 was said to be interested in Citizen's Matija Nastasic, reported The Metro.
This must have reached the ears of the Schalke 04 chairman, who has decided not to part ways with the player in the current window, and warn his potential suitors as well.
"We have absolutely no thoughts about him leaving on short notice," he told Sports Bild
"Schalke is the place where he can develop best and I told him that in person.
"My opinion is also, that Julian has developed greatly, especially regarding his personality." "He had a setback with his injury and, as with every big player at a young age, he had a weaker period. But Julian will have a fantastic career."
Arsenal has been keen on acquiring the services of the German and came close to a deal during the last January transfer window, but a deal could not be finalised at all.
The Gunners might still be interested in the player and throw in a great offer and see how the German club would react, after all it is about business.
Draxler can prove to be a great addition, though, they possess a number of similar midfielders, which includes Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain etc in the line up.
He is one of the complete midfielders in today's generation, where he uses both his feet to great effect and his speed with the ball is something, which has been widely regarded.
The German star is a flexible player, where he can play in a number of positions, including left and right wing, attacking midfielder and also the number 10 role just behind the striker.
Having started his professional career with Bundesliga club, Schalke 04, he has been one of the mainstays of the team, where he has scored 29 goals in 157 appearances, though, he has been crippled with injuries this season.
He has been able to find a spot in the ever competitive German team, which talks volumes about the player. He has scored a solitary goal for the national team in 15 appearances.
