The transfer window is open, and clubs across Europe are trying to flex their economic muscles to rope in their desired players for the next season of football. Arsenal FC too are lining up to pay for Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic.
Jovetic has been on loan from Manchester City to Inter Milan since the last season. But there was an obligation to buy the Montenegro forward at the end of the season for £11.5million.
However, it seems that Inter Milan wants to offload the striker. According to Mirror, Inter is looking to sell Jovetic to a possible suitor and take that money to pay off Manchester City.
Arsenal Football Club has shown initial interest in rolling out a deal in front of the player. But they will be facing stiff competition from Russian club Spartak Moscow as well. Spartak Moscow were already interested in signing the Inter Milan star, thus the Gunners may have to pay a little more to beat the Russian side's bid for Jovetic.
Jovetic has not had a good season with Inter Milan and thus the club is not really keen on signing the Montenegro international for the next season. The 26-year-old could not impress Roberto Mancini.
Arsenal FC were said to be interested in Jovetic in 2013 as well. But they were beaten by Manchester City. He did not have a good time in the Premier League back then either.
Jovetic has scored just seven goals in 28 matches for Inter Milan in the last season. Arsene Wenger will be wary of these stats for sure. However, Arsenal FC wants to sign a top quality striker but they are running out of options as of now. They need to hurry up with the process if Arsenal wants to sign up a quality forward.
