Arrow didn't really leave things pleasant in its Season 6 finale. With Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) turning himself in as the Green Arrow and his nemesis Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Avecedo) on the lam, there's even more intrigue surrounding the show than even before.
Fielding queries from the crowd at the recently-concluded San Diego Comic Con, Amell said that there's a chance the fans may not like what he does in the premiere episode of the upcoming season. He said there's no way to defend Queen's actions as what he does deserves condemnation.
Amell is clear on what he wants his writers to do for Season 7. The actor wants them to treat this to be the final season and write it like a story they've always wanted to write, but never got an opportunity to do so.
Is it really going to be the last season of Arrow?
A TV show usually is known to run out of storylines once they've hit the eighth of ninth season, but if they continue to bring the ratings the bosses will keep it on air. Case in point: Supernatural.
Even though Arrow has shown a decline in the ratings, it does enjoy a loyal fan base. But, will it be enough for it survive a couple of seasons more? That's a story for another time.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that FBI agent Samanda Watson (Sydelle Noel) will return. She was the one who cut a deal with Queen, asking him to reveal his identity once she and her team has helped her take down Diaz. Even though Diaz slipped away, Queen was kind enough to keep his promise.
What else is new?
Sharing the spotlight with Queen will be Black Siren/ Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), who is out for Diaz's blood and will stop at nothing to avenge Quentin Lance's (Paul Blackthorne) death. Even though she is from a different Earth where she was a meta-human criminal, Laurel managed to forge a bond with his Earth 1 father.
But all hope's not lost. Days before Season 6 finale aired, Cassidy told Comicbook.com that she's secretly hoping the makers decide on bringing back Quentin. "He was there from day one, I was there from day one, with Stephen, David, and Willa... Let's hope that there's a way to work him back in," the actress was quoted as saying.
Arrow Season 7 is scheduled to premiere on October 15.
