The premiere of the CW's "Arrow" Season 5 is still a long way away, but fans finally got some spoilers and teasers from star Stephen Amell regarding the upcoming episodes through a Twitter Q&A. It is understood that the shooting for the premiere episode has been completed and is going to feature some amazing new cast members playing memorable DC characters.
As fans already know, John Barrowman, who plays Malcolm Merlyn, is now following Wenthworth Miller's footsteps and will be a series regular for all DC/CW shows. Making up for the huge loss will be Adrian Chase aka the Vigilante, who will be played by Josh Segarra.
Meanwhile, a new baddie for the show, gangster Tobias Church will be brought to life by actor Chad L Coleman. Carly Pope will play a Coast City reporter Susan Williams and will join as detective Malone. An original character created especially for the series, Derek Zaba will also be introduced in Season 5, but an actor is yet to be signed on for the role.
Amell gave a shout-out to Rick Gonzalez, who will be part of the "Arrow" cast starting Season 5 during his Q&A. Gonzalez is set to play the role of Jack Wheeler aka Wild Dog.

In response to the many requests for a poster for Season 5 of "Arrow," Amell posted the following photo. It show a buff and long-haired Oliver standing in a fight club-like setting, making us believe this may be a photo from the flashback, during his time in Russia.

In case you are wondering if the arrival of "Supergirl" to the CW will call for a new backdoor episode, like in the case of "The Flash," here is what Amell has to say: "Even though Supergirl is joining the ranks, there's no new person or new show to introduce this year, and I think as a result of that, we need to get back to focusing more on some of the core elements that used to define Arrow."
What that means, is "hand-to-hand combat, no superpowers, and dealing with the job of cleaning up Star City," WeGotThisCovered quotes Amell as saying.
