Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his team will be back on The CW with an action-packed premiere episode of "Arrow" season 4 next Wednesday, 7 October, at 8 pm. Episode 1, titled "Green Arrow", will introduce the viewers to the rechristened Star City and the new villain Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).
The supernatural series will begin by showing the billionaire playboy leading a happy life with his lady love Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards). But, the romantic tune will quickly change after Thea Queen aka Speedy (Willa Holland) and Laurel Lance aka Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) reaches out to him for help. They inform him that a lot has changed after he left Starling City.
The official synopsis of the premiere episode read: "The city has been attacked by 'Ghosts', assassins led by a dangerous man named Damien Darhk. However, when Oliver returns, John Diggle (David Ramsey) makes it very clear that he doesn't want him in the team."
So, the rest of the team members might have to convince the ex-military man as they will need to work together to protect the city from the new villain. Creator Marc Guggenheim has already teased that the evil character is more powerful than the previous villains in the show.
"Unlike previous big bads, who were doing the wrong thing for the right reasons, there's nothing nearly as redeeming or redemptive in Damien Darhk. He's really pure evil, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his ends. We're gonna learn that this villain has been operating in town for the past three months," Entertainment Weekly quoted him as saying.
However, for Thea, "Arrow" season 4 will not be just about protecting Star City as she finds a new love interest in life. The character will be played by Parker Young and he will portray Oliver's consultant Alex Davis, according to TV Line.
The CW will air the premiere episode of "Arrow" season 4 on Wednesday, 7 October, at 8 pm.
