The lavish wedding ceremony of Salman Khan's sister Arpita to businessman Aayush Sharma on 18 November was a star-studded affair and several B-town celebs joined the Khan-daan at Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad on the special day.
Surprisingly, Sonakshi Sinha who struck gold after being launched by Salman in 2010 blockbuster "Dabangg" was missing from the celebrations.
While her absence raised many eyebrows, many believe that the actress didn't attend the wedding due to the promotions of her upcoming films "Action Jackson", "Lingaa" and "Tevar", which will hit screens soon.
However, some can't help wonder if she was invited to the wedding. According to a report in Mid-Day, the Khan family apparently decided not to invite Sonakshi as she is rumoured to be dating her "Tevar" co-star Arjun Kapoor, who before entering the film industry, was romantically involved with Arpita.
"Before he became an actor, Arjun was in a relationship with Arpita. So, he wouldn't have been invited. And with rumours about Sona dating him, her name was also struck off the guest list," a source told the daily.
Arjun, then 18, dated Salman's sister for two years before the latter decided to part ways. The "2 States" actor, in a previous statement, had even admitted that Arpita was his first and only serious relationship.
Apart from Sonakshi, Salman's ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif's alleged beau Ranbir Kapoor was also not invited for the wedding. However, Katrina, who is close to the bride, made it to the function without her live-in partner.
Rumour also had it that Salman didn't extend an invitation to the Bachchan family with whom he once shared a good bond. Abhishek Bachchan who got married to his ex-flame Aishwarya Rai is said to be the reason for the broken relationship between the family and Salman.
