Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan, who is all set to tie the knot with her long term boyfriend and aspiring actor Aayush Sharma on 18 November, had her pre-wedding mehendi ceremony on Sunday, 16 November.
The ceremony was a private affair held at their Galaxy apartment. The function started at around 1.00 pm and was attended by close family and friends including Helen, brother Sohail Khan, sister Alvira Khan and husband Atul Agnihotri, and Salman's ex-girlfriend Sangeeta Bijlani among others, reported IANS.
Himesh Reshammiya, Malaika Arora Khan and sister Amrita Arora were also among the guests who attended the mehendi function.
Soon after the mehendi, a sangeet party was held in the evening and was attended by many stars from B-town including superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was there to bless the bride.
For the big day, brother Salman has booked the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderbad for two days. The royal mansion has been specially decorated for the grand celebration, which will be attended by several biggies from the world of politics, cricket, business and the film industries of Mumbai as well as the Southern states.
The entire Khan family is working out the last minute details of the wedding and the dinner menu on the D-day is one of them.
The family has made sure to add some of the popular Deccan dishes including Hyderabadi Biryani, Haleem and Pathar Ka Gosht (meat cooked on stone) that would be served to the guests on the wedding day.
"Brunches, lunches and dinners throughout the event will have all the dishes, including some oriental. But for the main dinner (on November 18), it is going to be Hyderabadi cuisine like Biryani and Pathar Ka Gosht," a source told Deccan Chronicle.
"The Khans have specifically asked to add Kachche Gosht Ki Biryani and Haleem because they had it in the hotel earlier," the source added.
The marriage will be performed as per Hindu traditions at the palace hotel followed by a star-studded reception at Mumbai on 21 November.
