Arnold Schwarzenegger could be making his debut in an Indian film shortly, according to the grapevine.
The Hollywood star will be appearing in none other than Rajinikanth's "Endhiran 2" which will be directed by Shankar.
Reports suggest that Arnold Schwarzenegger has been approached with an offer to act in the movie and he has accepted it. He will have a role equal to that of Rajinikanth, the hero of the multilingual movie. It is believed that the Hollywood star will play a baddie.
Earlier, Aamir Khan was approached for the villain's role. But it appears the deal could not be struck between Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist and the makers of the movie. Hence, Shankar's launched a hunt for a powerful baddie, which ended with Arnold.
Arnold Schwarzenegger shares a friendly relationship with Shankar. The Hollywood star had attended the audio launch function of the director's earlier movie "I" starring Vikram and Amy Jackson.
During the visit, Arnold had said that he was interested to work in Tamil films. Now, the actor seems to be impressed by the storyline and has given his nod to act in "Endhiran 2". The Hollywood star is likely to be in India for 25 days to shoot his portion.
"Endhiran 2" is a sequel to "Endhiran", which was released in 2010. It is the biggest film made in terms of budget in Kollywood and also remains the highest-grossing Kollywood movie of all time till date. The first instalment was bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
But it is not sure who will produce the second instalment of "Endhiran". The first instalment featured Rajinikanth in double role, with and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing his female lead. Danny Denzongpa, Santhanam, Karunas and others were also in the cast.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that "Endhiran 2" is in pre-production stage and the director is busy finalising locations. It will begin once Rajinikanth wraps up his next film with Pa Ranjith.
