Several police personnel, including a woman officer were injured when about 20 trainee army jawans in civilian clothes allegedly attacked and vandalised a police station in Nashik, Maharashtra on Wednesday.
The jawans came on their bikes, stormed into the police station, created havoc by ransacking the furniture and other equipments present there. This was followed by a clash between them and the police personnel when the latter were hit by the jawans, according to IANS.
The jawans had stormed into the police station in civilian clothes apparently to conceal their identities. They were recognised from the number plates on their bikes.
The police claimed that the jawans were agitated with them for their action against an army man.
The police had asked for permission to act against the jawans.
