Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor is all set to get into the shoes of Madhav Jha, the character he will play in Mohit Suri's "Half Girllfriend." Based on the novel of the same name, author Chetan Bhagat shared the first look of Arjun on social media.
The "Tevar" actor has to be trained well in basketball for the character and the picture also showed him in a player's avatar. "Half Girlfriend" is the story of a boy from a rural yet royal family in Bihar who falls in love with a Delhi girl. Arjun will play the role of Bihar boy Madhav Jha, while Shraddha will play the character of Riya Somani. This is the first time Arjun and Shraddha will share screen space.
Earlier, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon were roped in for the film, but their dates with "Raabta" were clashing with the Mohit Suri directorial. Hence, Shraddha and Arjun came on board. Chetan's another bestseller, "2 States," was adapted for a film, which also featured Arjun as the male lead.
The shooting of "Half Girlfriend" commenced recently. Apart from Chetan, Arjun also shared the first look along with a picture of him with the basketball and a video of him playing the sport. Also, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#HalfGirlfriend: Arjun's been training with a basketball team from USA to perfect the sport."

After the success of "Baaghi," Shraddha recently wrapped up the shooting of "OK Jaanu," which also stars Aditya Roy Kapur. The film is the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, "OK Kanmani," which featured Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. The "Ek Villain" actress will also be seen in "Rock On 2!"
