Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor are set to team up for a film and will portray their real life relationship of chacha-bhatija (uncle-nephew) in reel life too. Helmed by Anees Bazmee, "Mubaraka" was supposed to be directed by Milap Zaveri earlier, but things didn't work out with the "Mastizaade" director.
"In the film, Anil and Arjun will be playing 'chacha-bhatija'. Both share a great camaraderie off screen and we are hopeful that the audience will like their on screen jodi as well," a source told the Press Trust of India. The insider also added that the flick will be a family entertainer with elements of comedy, drama and romance.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, "Mubaraka" story will be about Arjun's character, who is an eligible bachelor and two beautiful ladies want to marry him. Anil's role is to play Arjun's love guru and help him to choose between the two gorgeous ladies.
Produced by Sony Pictures, the Anees directorial will also collaborate with Anil and the director again after films like "No Entry," "Welcome" and Welcome Back." It had been reported that Arjun turned down Karan Johar's movie offer to star with his uncle Anil in "Mubaraka."
Meanwhile, Anil is busy with his television serial "24" season 2 and might star in "Aankhen 2" along with Shahid Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan. On the other hand, Arjun recently won hearts with his performance in "Ki and Ka" opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The "Ishaqzaade" actor is currently shooting for Mohit Suri's "Half Girlfriend." Based on the novel of the same name, author Chetan Bhagat recently shared the first look of Arjun from the movie. "Half Girlfriend" is the story of a boy from a rural yet royal family in Bihar who falls in love with a Delhi girl. Arjun will play the role of Bihar boy Madhav Jha, while Shraddha Kapoor will play the character of Riya Somani. This is the first time Arjun and Shraddha will share screen space.
