The shooting of Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer "2 States", an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel "2 States: The Story of My Marriage", is all set to begin in Indian Institute of Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
An elated Bhagat tweeted on Sunday, "2 States - the film, starts shooting its next schedule in IIM Ahmedabad tomorrow. Real location. Real excitement."
"Will visit the 2 States film set. And my old college. Oh wait, both are the same today. 2 States - the film, at IIMA today!" the author said a while ago.
Bhagat's successful novel, "2 States: The Story of My Marriage" narrates humorously the love story of a Punjabi boy and Tamil girl and the ensuing cultural deadlock between their respective families.
Bhagat had written the screenplay for the film.
The 38-year-old novelist was also one of the screenplay writers of Abhishek Kapoor's "Kai Po Che" which is loosely based on his novel "The 3 Mistakes of My life." He is currently busy with the screenplay for Salman Khan's upcoming film "Kick".
"2 States" is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Gauri Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala.
This will be Alia Bhatt's third film after her debut "Student of The Year" and the yet to be released "Highway" with Randeep Hooda. The film will be Arjun Kapoor's second venture after critically acclaimed film "Ishaqzaade".
