Ariana Grande is in the news once more and this time it's about her 'Thank U, Next' Burn Book. However, her recent compliment for former flame, Ricky Alvarez immediately led to a series of misinterpretations and the singer decided to set things straight by telling one fan to chill!
In her Burn Book, Ariana wrote that while Big Sean "could still get it" and ex Ricky Alvarez was slotted in the "friends forever" category. On Monday, Ricky who doubles as Ariana's former beau and backup dancer showed off his new buzzed and blonde hairdo on Instagram, which Ariana definitely seem to approve of.
"These colours are sick," commented Ariana which led to a stir as a number of fans commented asking about a 'Rickiana' comeback. One fan account in particular wrote, "WHATS ABOUT YOU AND ARIANA???? WE ALL WANT TO KNOW," to which Ariana responded, "We're friends everyone take a big ol breather."
It may have come as a surprise to a few, however, Ariana's lyrics dedicated to Ricky in 'Thank U, Next' make it clear that although the former lovers are friendly, a romance doesn't seem to be on the cards anytime soon. In the single's first verse, she sings, "Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh." As if responding to the same, Ricky filmed a video of him listening to the line with mock shock, to which Ariana replied on her Instagram Story, "I'm sorry u got the worst line…it was meant v lovingly."
While, her 'Next' is yet to make an appearance, Ariana is currently focusing on work and has a reason to smile in that regard. The diva's 'Thank U, Next' tops the Billboard Hot 100, returning for a fourth week at No. 1. Her single made the biggest weekly total ever for a song by a female artist. It passed the 84.5 million that Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do".
Returning to news of her split from former fiancé, SNL star, Pete Davidson, it was reported that Ariana reached out to Pete Davidson after their breakup but he wanted zero contact with the pop star.
It's been confirmed that Davidson blocked Ariana on social media. According to a screengrab of a private message with a fan, she wrote, "i have never encouraged anything but forgiveness. i care deeply about pete and his health and would never encourage any kind of mistreatment. i haven't seen any of it because i'm blocked but i want you to know that i would never want or encourage that ever and you should know that."
