At least 41 police personnel were killed after a bus carrying Argentinian border patrol officers, plunged 65 feet into a creek in the northern province of Salta on Monday, reports said.
A total of 51 police personnel were on the bus, which was travelling from Santiago del Estero to Jujuy, when the bus went off the road and fell into the ravine near of Rosario del Fuente, a report said.
According to Spanish daily Clarin, the National Highway Route 34, where the bus fell is "totally run down, very bumpy". The bus involved in the accident was one of the three police buses travelling on the national highway 34.
Emergency services till now have freed 10 officers, who are all in critical condition.
According to BBC, the bus fell off the bridge at around 02:00 local time (05:00 GMT). The local police in a statement said they believe that the driver of the bus lost control after one of tyres of the vehicle burst.
