After Shankar, AR Murugadoss and Raghava Lawrence, yet another director's name is now being linked to Rajinikanth's next movie. Well, it is none other than Pa Ranjith, who is likely to team up with the superstar for the first time.
Pa Ranjith is reportedly getting ready to direct Rajinikanth. It was revealed by actor Dinesh on his Facebook page.
He wrote: "Blessings of God.. #Ranjith sir doing Movie with #Rajini sir.. Its Confirmed Kalakkunga Sir #AttaKathi #Madras." The news has come as a big surprise, as Rajinikanth prefers tried-and-tested directors to young filmmakers.
If we take a look at Rajinikanth's profile in the last 15 years. the actor has worked only with senior directors such as Shankar, KS Ravikumar, P Vasu and Suresh Krishna. Hence, his move to work with Ranjith has surprised Tamil cinema.
As of now, trade trackers and industry insiders are yet to confirm the development and keenly waiting for an official comment on the project. Many are saying that the Rajinikanth-Pa Ranjith project is in discussion stage and nothing has been confirmed yet.
Pa Ranjith is just two-films ("Attakathi" and "Madras") old, and both the films won appreciation from critics. The movies were moderate hits in Telugu.
The latest movie is likely to be bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Dhanu.
Coming to Rajinikanth's next movie, there have been many reports of late about the superstar joining hands with Shankar, with whom he had earlier worked in blockbusters such as "Sivaji" and "Enthiran".
There were also reports that Rajini, who was last seen in "Lingaa", would work with AR Murugadoss for the first time and the project would be produced by Aascar Ravichandran. A few days ago, it was also said that the superstar might team up with Raghava Lawrence, who is basking in the success of "Kanchana 2".
