AR Murugadoss' "Kaththi" became a big Diwali release, but controversies around the Vijay starrer refused to die down.
Initially, some political and religious groups demanded to ban the film's release. Following some violent incidents, the issue was amicably settled. The film was released on 22 October and opened to positive reviews.
Later, Minjur Gopi had filed a case on the Vijay starrer citing plagarism issues, however, on Wednesday, the court has quashed the plagiarism allegations.

The film also has Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Sathish in pivotal roles. Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the role of a baddie in the flick. The action-thriller is produced by Lyca Productions.
