It is official, Aquaman has begun filming. After Jason Momoa and Amber Heard wrapped their parts for the Justice League releasing this year, the Aqua God and his love interest have dived into the deep blue sea to begin their work on the solo DC movie.

After months of announcements, actors teasing fans with prep videos and photos, the DC movie has finally kicked off. The official first take picture was shared by Aquaman director James Wan on Twitter.

Posting the picture from the first take, James Wan aka Creepy Puppet on Twitter, captioned the photo: "Months of intensive prep have led to this. Here we go. #DayOne #Ahab"

Gathering the cast, heading out for location hunting and building it up to today was an intense journey and the director made sure his fans were posted through it all. He shared pictures of the cast as and when they were confirmed, gave us a sneak peek at the locations he was considering and finally set off to Australia for pre-production.

As seen in the picture, the first scene is being shot on a submarine. The clapboard also gives us a look at a new version of Aquaman logo baring the film's working title, Ahab.

The picture shared on the platform all kinds of emotional outbursts when the announcement was made. Fans cheered the director on his first day of filming of Aquaman, and many even broke into tears. Take a look:

Aquaman stars Momoa in the title role alongside Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Patrick Wilson.

Aquaman swims his way into theatres first in Justice League on November 17 this year and will feature in his solo movie on December 21, 2018.
