The highly anticipated scooter from Italian brand Aprilia -- the SR 150 -- is all set for its launch in the country on Aug. 22. The Aprilia SR 150 has been grabbing headlines since its appearance at the Auto Expo 2016 in February and the company is finally set to announce the launch next week.
The SR 150, a premium scooter from the Italian marquee, has already started reaching the showrooms ahead of its launch and the company is expected to commence the delivery immediately after the launch. The bookings for the scooter are also open and can be booked through Paytm and Vespa brick and mortar stores. The Aprilia SR 150 will be launched at an introductory price tag of Rs. 65,000.
Earlier last week, Aprilia rolled out the first unit of the SR 150 from Piaggio's India plant in Baramati, Maharashtra. It is the first Aprilia model to be manufactured in India. It was also being said that Aprilia may add more variants to its SR range in the country in the coming years.
Speaking of the SR 150, the scooter, which gets beak-styled front apron twin headlamp, draws power from a 154.4cc 3-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that also does duty in the Vespa 150 in the country. It will generate 11.39bhp of power and 11.5Nm of torque mated to a CVT unit. The scooter will employ telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear.
It will run on 14-inch alloy wheels wrapped around 120/70 spec wheels. The braking will be taken care of by 220mm disc at front and 140mm drum brakes at rear.
