Italian brand Aprilia's SR 150 premium scooter was launched in the Indian market on August 22 and the scooter has caught the attention of many already. If the latest reports are anything to by, the demand for the Aprilia SR 150 has gone up in the market, resulting in stretched waiting period for the model.
The Aprilia SR 150, which is open for bookings through Vespa stores and e-commerce retailer Paytm, currently commands a waiting period of two months in major cities and we have learnt that in some of the cities it is even going beyond two months. While Paytm continues to offer a cashback of Rs 1,000 on the booking amount, the Aprilia SR 150 is said to be out of stock. The e-retailer was initially offering a 100 percent cashback on the booking amount.
The premium scooter, which has been priced at Rs 65,000, is being manufactured at Piaggio's India plant at Baramati city in Maharashtra's Pune district. The Aprilia SR 150 is available in two colours -- black and white.
Powered by a 154.4cc 3-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that can churn out 11.39bhp of power and 11.5Nm of torque mated to a CVT unit, the Aprilia SR 150 has a 7-litre capacity fuel tank. The Aprilia SR 150 features an instrument cluster with a twin-pod analog unit for speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer and employs telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear.
The SR 150 is the first Aprilia model to be manufactured in the country and the current price of the model may go up soon as the price was an introductory offer.
