Italian brand Aprilia is slated to launch the SR 150 scooter in India in August. The company has already revealed the prices of the upcoming SR 150 earlier this month and now the dealers of Vespa, through which the model will be sold in India, have started accepting the bookings for the upcoming scooter.
Aprilia SR 150 will be launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 65,000. The scooter has started reaching the showrooms of Vespa and the pictures of the model from the dealerships are doing the round on the internet.
The Aprilia SR 150 will be powered by a 154.4cc 3-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that also does duty in the Vespa 150 in the country. The engine is expected to generate 11.8bhp of power and 11Nm of torque mated to a CVT unit. The scooter will employ telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the rear. It will run on 14-inch alloy wheels wrapped around 120/70 spec wheels. The braking will be taken care of by 220mm disc at front and 140mm drum brakes at rear.
The Aprilia SR 150 is first the Aprilia model to be manufactured in India at the Piaggio's India plant in Baramati, Maharashtra. The design of Aprilia SR 150 looks sporty and gets beak-styled front apron twin headlamp, handle bar mounted turn indicators and instrument cluster with a twin pod analog unit for speedometre, fuel gauge and odometre.
