The decks have been cleared to welcome the highly anticipated SR 150 premium scooter from the Italian brand Aprilia. The Aprilia SR 150 will be launched in India on Aug. 22 (Monday) with an introductory price tag of Rs. 65,000.
The Aprilia SR 150 will be sold in the country through Vespa dealerships, which have already started accepting the bookings for the new scooter, and it can also be booked online through Paytm for a booking amount of Rs. 2,000.
The company is expected to commence the delivery of the SR 150 soon after the launch and the scooters have started reaching the showrooms. The SR 150 is the first Aprilia model to be manufactured in India and will be rolled out from Piaggio's India plant in Baramati, Maharashtra.
From a visual stand point, the Aprilia SR 150 will get beak-styled front apron twin headlamp, handle bar mounted turn indicators and instrument cluster with a twin-pod analog unit for speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer.
To be offered in two colours--the SR 150 will pack features such as dual-tone art leather seat, under seat storage and USB provision. Powering the SR 150 scooter is a 154.4cc 3-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that also does duty in the Vespa 150 in the country. It will generate 11.39bhp of power and 11.5Nm of torque mated to a CVT unit.
The Aprilia SR 150 will employ telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. It will run on 14-inch alloy wheels wrapped around 120/70 spec wheels. The braking in the SR 150 will be taken care of by 220mm disc at front and 140mm drum brakes at rear.
