It looks like the Aprilia SR 150 scooter is coming our way sooner than expected. While earlier reports had said that the launch of the new scooter from the Italian brand Aprilia would happen towards the end of August, latest news is that the launch has been scheduled for Aug. 10.
The Aprilia SR 150 has already started reaching showrooms and the scooter will be sold through Vespa dealerships in India. The company has also revealed the prices of the soon-to-be-launched Aprilia SR 150 and it will come at an introductory price point of Rs. 65,000. The company will start the delivery of the new scooter from September, reports CarandBike.
Aprilia SR 150 gets beak-styled front apron twin headlamp, handle bar mounted turn indicators and instrument cluster with a twin pod analog unit for speedometre, fuel gauge and odometre.
It is the first Aprilia model to be manufactured in India at Piaggio's India plant in Baramati, Maharashtra. Powering the SR 150 scooter is a 154.4cc 3-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that also does duty in the Vespa 150 in the country. It will generate 11.39bhp of power and 11.5Nm of torque mated to a CVT unit. The scooter will employ telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the rear. It will run on 14-inch alloy wheels wrapped around 120/70 spec wheels. The braking will be taken care of by 220mm disc at front and 140mm drum brakes at rear.
