Piaggio two-wheeler brand Aprilia made headlines in India last year with the launch of its most affordable and first made-in-India product, the SR 150 scooter. Apart from this, the Italian two-wheeler maker also has high-end bikes in India sold through Piaggio Motoplex showrooms. The company is reportedly planning to launch two new bikes in India to consolidate its presence.

The company will be launching Shiver 900 and the Dorsoduro 900 bike in India soon, reports Bikewale. Both the bikes will be imported to the country from Italy and will be brought in as completely-built-up (CBU) units. Though the price of the Shiver 900 has not revealed yet, the report says it will be the second most affordable Aprilia model in India. The Dorsoduro 900 will retail at Rs 13.84 lakh, ex-showroom Pune) making it the third most affordable Aprilia in India.
Aprilia updated both Shiver 750 and Dorsoduro 750 models with 900cc engine last year and unveiled it at EICMA show in November. Aprilia claim the new and larger powerplant produces 95.2bhp at 8,759rpm and 89Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
With the new engine in place, both bikes now meet Euro4 emissions standards. Both the bikes have been updated with better electronics. The Shiver 900 gets a single-level traction control, while the Dorsoduro boasts of three-level settings. Other major additions in the bikes include updated 41mm Kayaba forks, variable riding modes and ABS.
The bookings for the new Shiver 900 and the Dorsoduro will soon begin at all Motoplex showrooms in India. Motoplex dealerships is where Piaggio Group's subsidiary brands like Vespa, Piaggio, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Derbi and Gilera two-wheelers are sold under one roof. Currently, there are four Motoplex showrooms in India located at Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi.
