Besides the new line of iPhone 6S series smartphones, the Cupertino company took everyone by surprise by announcing two new iPads.

Apple is known to launch iPad series in October and release the devices in November, but this time Apple has advanced the announcements to September, and taken the wraps off the all new iPad Pro series with a mammoth 12.9-inch display.

It boasts 2732x1048p resolution display and is powered by the company's proprietary 3rd generation Apple A9X processor, which is said to be 2.5 times faster than A7 processor. It comes with M9 motion co-processor, which takes care of smaller functional, taking some load off the main CPU.

Apple also unveiled the fourth generation iPad Mini. Except the compact 7.9-inch screen, the internal hardware is identical to what we see in 2014 series Apple iPad Air 2. It boasts same specifications in A8 processor with M8 motion co-processor.

Both Apple iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 are said to offer minimum of 10 hours of web-surfing in single charge and also house the same camera features as well -- an 8mp iSight camera on the back and 1.2mp FaceTime snapper on the front.

The company has confirmed that both the new iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 will come in three variants and gold, silver and space gray colour options. The devices will hit stores in November with price starting from $399 (€356/₹26,630).

Apple also unveiled a couple of new accessories -- Apple Pencil (re-chargeable via Light port) and a Smart Keyboard (charcoal gray). They will cost $99 (€88/₹6,610) and $169 (€151/₹11,281) respectively.
