Apple Inc is reportedly contemplating to re-launch the 2010 model iPhone 4 in India soon.

Apple's iPhone 4(8GB) was selling for around ₹26,000 in India till late 2013. But soon after the launch of iPhone 5S and 5C in November it was discontinued, apparently creating a void in the sub-₹30,000 category for Apple to compete with rivals.

Since then, Apple's limited market share has declined from four percent (October-December 2012) to 1.4 percent (October-December 2013). Adding woes to the company, the plastic based iPhone 5C recorded poor sales. So in its bid to ramp up unit sales, the US firm will re-introduce iPhone 4 (8GB) in the subcontinent for ₹15,000 via buyback and EMI (Easy Monthly Installment) schemes.

Apple's official retailers, Ingram Micro and Redington, are expected kick start the iPhone 4 re-launch as early as next week to cash in on the Republic Day holiday mood, reported Economic Times.

iPhone 4 sports a 3.5-inch back-lit IPS TFT LCD screen with retina display (960x640p) and packs the A4 chipset paired with PowerVR SGX 535 GPU, 512MB RAM and 8GB inbuilt memory.
