Samsung has won the patent battle against Apple in the Netherlands as the Dutch supreme court in The Hague asked Apple to compensate for infringement relating to 3G patents.
iPad 2 and iPhone 4 are the Apple devices facing the heat from the court ruling. However, iPad and iPhone 4S are excluded as Apple switched to a new chipset supplier, namely Qualcomm.
Although Apple and Samsung have won quite a few cases against each other across the globe, this new event has given Samsung an upper hand.
However, it is unclear what sort of damage claims Samsung may extract from Apple as compensation. In a statement Samsung revealed that, "Samsung welcomes the decision of the court in The Hague, which again confirms that Apple makes free use of our technological innovations. In accordance with this statement, we will recover adequate damages that Apple and its products have caused."
