Apple's 2016 flagship iPhone 7 series is going to be made available on October 7 in India. But the enthusiasm around iPhone 7 series launch in India is modest at best, as they are going on sale only in evening at 7:00 pm.
Last year, Apple's authorised shops were well-lit with attractive decorations and opened at mid night to a cheering crowd reminiscent of the long queues seen in the past just after the launch of a new iPhone in the West.
This somber mood around the iPhone 7 India launch might have to do with the devices not having any radical change in the design language, but just some modest upgrades in terms of internal hardware.
In a bid to attract new consumers,the new iPhone 7 series, despite having double the storage capacity compared to the iPhone 6S series, the launch prices are Rs 2,000 are less than the predecessor. The Apple's 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus prices start from Rs 60,000 and Rs 72,000 in the country.

Apple has also slashed the prices of older models pretty generously. Usually, Apple reduces the price by around Rs 10,000 for old devices ahead of new iPhones. This time, the company has slashed Rs 22,000 on high-end 128GB models of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Previously the devices cost Rs 82,000 and Rs 92,000, respectively. Now, they can be grabbed for Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000, respectively.
Even the price of the 64GB iPhone SE model price has been decreased from Rs 49,000 to Rs 44,000.
The company has also introduced 32GB models of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus for Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000, respectively.
Apple's official online partner Flipkart, in a bid to get consumers' attention to its e-store, is offering Rs 10,000 off on new iPhone 7 series and other promotional gift vouchers.
