Apple revealed on Thursday the price details of the iPhone 7 series, ahead of its release on Oct. 7 in India. The company also dropped the prices of the iPhone 6S and the iPhone SE series models in the country.
The prices of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus start at Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 72,000, respectively.
As far as the older models are concerned, they getting generous price cuts. Usually, the Cupertino-based firm reduced the price of the old devices by around Rs. 10,000, ahead of the launch of the new iPhones. This time, the company has slashed the price by Rs. 22,000 on the high-end 128GB models of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. They earlier cost Rs. 82,000 and Rs. 92,000, respectively. Now, they can be grabbed for Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 70,000, respectively.
The price of the 64GB iPhone SE model has also been reduced from Rs. 49,000 to Rs. 44,000.
The company has also introduced 32GB models of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus for Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 60,000, respectively.
The same models can also be purchased for much less on Amazon India, Flipkart and other e-commerce sites, but these are based on promotional schemes.

Apple is said to have stopped the production of iPhone 6, 6 Plus of 2014 series and also ditched the 16GB and 64GB storage models of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, soon after launch of the new iPhone 7. The same is reflected on Apple India official page, as all the aforementioned devices have been removed. That said, a few models that are already in the market, are being sold with discount offers.

In a related development, Apple-authorised re-sellers, iWorld and Unicorn, have started taking orders for iPhone 7 series in select cities in India. Some franchises are also charging advance payment of Rs. 5,000.
