Apple iPhone 6: Likely to Come in 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch Sizes; Tipped to Debut in September 2014

American technology giant, Apple has reportedly begun the ground work for production of its much anticipated new generation iPhone 6 series smartphones slated for September debut.

Popular Japanese business media house, Nikkei citing sources has claimed that the local screen manufacturer Sharp Corporation would start the production oif Apple's new iPhone LCD display panels early next month with sizes 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch having significantly more resolution than the current iPhone models.

Apart from Sharp, Apple has also roped in South Korea based LG Electronics to make screens to handle the additional load, probably to meet the deadline of September launch. Other key components of the front-panel such as finger-print sensor and liquid-crystal drivers are already under production, said the report.

On Monday the UBS analyst, Steve Milunovich citing his own source too corroborated that the Apple iPhone 6 series devices would debut in sizes 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, but expressed some apprehension that bigger model may not make the debut along with its smaller (4.7-inch) sibling in September.

Numerous reports and speculations of Apple iPhone 6 have surfaced online over the last few months with contradicting specifications. A South Korean market watch-dog, KDB Daewoo Securities  known for its pretty decent track record has predicted that the 4.7-inch model is expected to be the successor of 2013 premium model iPhone 5S. It would boast full HD (1920x1080p) display with pixel density of more than 440 ppi (pixels per inch), a new iOS v8.0, a 64-bit Apple A8 chipset, 2GB RAM, 8.0-megapixel camera, 3.2-megapixel front camera and a 1800 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the 5.5-inch model (touted as iPhablet) would boast retina (2272x1280p) IGZO display with 550 ppi resolution and rest of the internal components will be same as in the smaller sibling.
