Earlier in the week, Apple Inc. announced the much anticipated iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and now the company has reportedly slashed the prices of the previous generation devices to clear stocks for the new iPhones next month.
Mumbai-based smartphone vendor Mahesh Telecom has revealed that Apple has officially slashed the prices of 32GB and 16GB models of the 2013 flagship iPhone 5S up to ₹13,000 bucks.
Apple iPhone 5S-32GB and 16GB costs ₹49,500 and ₹44,500, previously they used to cost a whopping ₹62,500 and ₹53,500 respectively.

Once the new iPhone 6 series smartphones are released in India, Apple might re-introduce the buy-back scheme on iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and other older models.
The company ran similar exchange campaign in 2013 and early 2014 and reaped huge profits in selling iPhone 4 and iPhone 5.
Apple reportedly recorded a staggering 400% increase in its iPhone sales revenue within a few months. It remains to be seen, if Apple records similar revenues this time.
