Samsung's flagship Galaxy S4 overshadowed almost all its competitors in the early part of the year till its 14 March launch, but now it's time for arch rival Apple to steal the limelight. The latest we hear is that Apple iPhone 5S release date is not far off.
Technology website Electronista citing a Japanese Apple community MacFan has reported that Apple will host a grand event to launch the next generation iPhone dubbed as iPhone 5S in June and is expected reach the stores in the next month.
The report seems to corroborate with other rumours doing the rounds in the media for the past few weeks. Japanese website Macotakara reported earlier this month that iPhone 5S production had already begun, and market analyst Gene Munster also iterated similar prediction a few days ago, but the date '20 June' release can't be predicted since the date of launch is always prerogative of Apple to choose, hence the rumour has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Electronista also claimed that the speculated cheap iPhone will also be launched in August, a couple of months after the iPhone 5S release.
This news too back-up opinions voiced by many market analysts that Apple has to adopt a new business model for price-sensitive smartphone markets like India and China to expand its reach.
Apple seems to have taken a note of these suggestions. By increasing its reseller partners in India and conjuring up new innovative marketing strategy, the American company has made tremendous inroads into the Indian markets by allowing EMI (Easy Monthly Installment) payment mode for iPhone 5 and also slashing the prices of older iPhone models. If cheaper iPhone do become a reality, Apple is sure to become a reckoning force in the Indian burgeoning low-cost smartphone market.
Meanwhile, Apple has its task cut-out to pack its next generation iPhone with more innovative and feature-rich specs to out-shine arch rival Samsung's latest smartphone Galaxy S4. Apple must put effort to launch iPhone 5S as early as possible or else the delay will boost sales of other rivals HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and Nokia 920 as well.
It is reported that Apple iPhone 5S will keep the same dimensions of its predecessors while it is expected to get a much improved and faster Apple designed chipset with quad-core A7 processor, a smart dual-LED flash support for low-light image capture and a finger print reading software to make iPhone access more secured.
