After weeks of speculations, Apple has finally launched the iPhone 5C 8GB model in India.
The new iPhone 5C variant is understood to cost ₹37,500 (MRP) and as an introductory offer, Apple is giving ₹3,000 discount, there by reducing the final price to ₹34,500 and that's not all; the company is also giving away a free cover-case worth ₹2,300 with the phone, reported NDTV Gadgets.
Besides change in storage capacity, Apple iPhone 5C specifications remain same. It sports a colorful polycarbonate-based plastic body with 4.0-inch retina (1136x640p) display and packs Apple's proprietary dual-core A6 processor powered by iOS v7.0 (v7.1.1 has been released).
Other stipulated specifications include an 8.0-megapixel camera (with LED flash support, full HD video recording, f/2.4 aperture, 3X zoom), a 1.2-megapixel front camera (with HD 720p video recording ability) and standard connectivity features like Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n , 2.4GHz & 5GHz ), A-GPS, GLONASS and digital compass.
Apple 5C 8GB was first introduced in select European markets (UK, France, Germany and others), Australia and China in March, and now the new iPhone 5C variant has been introduced in India as a replacement for 2010 smartphone iPhone 4, which was re-launched in the subcontinent in early this year.

Thanks to creative marketing blitzkriegs like buy-back schemes, Apple iPhone 4, despite being three-generation old, was a hit among India buyers. It reportedly pushed the Apple growth (year-on-year) rate to all-time high of 55-percent.
As of now, there is no word on whether Apple has any plans to initiate smartphone exchange-offers or EMI (Easy Monthly Installment) schemes for iPhone 5C 8GB as such. But, if the company decides to introduce these consumer friendly programs, the price of the new iPhone 5C variant can be brought down to under ₹30,000.
Apple iPhone 5C- 16GB and 32GB models are retailing for (MRP) ₹41,900 and ₹53,500 respectively in India.
