Apple's eagerly-awaited flagship tablet iPad Pro has been officially launched in select regions across the world.
"The early response to iPad Pro from app developers and our customers has been incredible, and we're excited to get iPad Pro into the hands of customers around the world this week," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice-president of Worldwide Marketing.
"iPad Pro is the most powerful iPad we've ever made, giving users the ability to be even more creative and more productive with the epic 12.9-inch Retina display, powerful 64-bit A9X chip and groundbreaking Apple Pencil and new Smart Keyboard. We can't wait to see what they do with iPad Pro," he added.
The company has confirmed that the iPad Pro can be pre-booked at official online site Apple.com from Wednesday (11 November), while the device will be released in brick-and-mortar stores later this week in the US, the UK, Germany, the UAE, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and 42 other countries across the world.
As of now, the company is also yet to announce when iPad Pro will be made available in India. Also, there is no word on when the new iPad Mini 4 will be released. Stay tuned for more updates.
For the uninitiated, the new iPad Pro comes with a massive 12.9-inch display with 2732x1048p resolution.
Under the hood, it comes packed with the company's proprietary third-generation Apple A9X processor, which is said to be 2.5 times faster than the A7 processor.
It is backed by an M9 motion co-processor, which takes care of smaller functions, to take some load off the main CPU.
On the other hand, Apple iPad Mini sports a compact 7.9-inch screen, but the internal hardware is identical to what we see in 2014 series 9.7-inch Apple iPad Air 2. It boasts the same specifications as the A8 processor with an M8 motion co-processor.
Both Apple iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 are said to offer minimum of 10 hours of web-surfing in a single charge, and also house the same camera features: 8MP iSight camera on the back and 1.2MP FaceTime snapper on the front.
