"Maheshinte Prathikaaram"-fame Aparna Balamurali will play the lead role in the upcoming Malayalam movie "Sarvopari Palakkaan." She has now replaced actress Honey Rose, who has backed out from the project due to her tight schedule.
"Honey Rose was roped in for the movie initially but she had a few date clashes with her next project, so she opted out. After that we had a few script revisions and thought Aparna would be apt to play the role," the movie's scriptwriter S Suresh Babu told the Times of India.
Aparna will be seen playing the role of an activist who participated in the Kiss of Love campaign that made national headlines last year. Anoop Menon plays the lead role in the movie and the relationship shared between his character Jose K Mani, a special branch CI, and Aparna's character, Anupama, is being narrated in the family entertainer. "Sarvopari Palakkaran" is the directorial venture of Venugopan and is expected to start rolling in August. The film is also said to star Miya in a pivotal role. However, the latest reports suggest that she might also back out from the project due to date clashes with her upcoming Tamil films.
Although Aparna made her acting debut in Vineeth Sreenivasan movie "Oru Second Class Yathra," it was Fahadh Faasil-starrer "Maheshinte Prathikaaram" that gave her a break in career. Her performance as Fahadh's heroine Jimcy was well accepted by the audience, who were also impressed with her voice in the melody "Maunangal" in the movie. She is currently working for "Om Shanti Oshaana" director Jude Anthony Jospeh's second movie "Oru Muthassi Gadha" and has sung the melody "Vinnil Theliyum Mekhame" with Vijay Yesudas for the upcoming Anoop Menon-Murali Gopy-starrer "Pa..Va."
