Kabir Khan is now set to direct the first Indo-China co-production that will have a Bollywood actor and a Chinese actress in lead roles. The director wants to cast any of the four superstars of Bollywood -- Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan or Hrithik Roshan -- as the hero of the film.
"It's a human drama, a journey film with a story which demands that the character travels from India to China. Last September, we went back and narrated some subjects to them (Chinese film-makers) and they liked two. This is the first one that we are developing," Ajit Thakur of Trinity Pictures, a franchise studio of Eros International that is co-producing the movie, told Mumbai Mirror.
Kabir also said that the team is working on the script that will present the hero's journey from India to China and how the protagonist's attitude and perception changes in the film. "Aamir, Shah Rukh, Salman and Hrithik, they are our biggest stars. Hopefully, we will get one of them," the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" director added.
Meanwhile, Kabir is working on two other upcoming movies, one with Hrithik and the other with Salman, but the film-maker said that he has not decided shooting of which one will begin first. Makers of the film also said that a big portion of the film will be shot in China. An excited Kabir said: "The Chinese market is five times bigger than ours and growing every month. Culturally, we are very alike and yet different, and language is a barrier. But I am really excited about this bona fide Indo-China production."
While Kabir has named four actors that he would like to cast for the movie, he has already worked with Salman in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Ek Tha Tiger," but the director has not worked yet with the other three superstars that he mentioned.
