Actress Anushka Shetty, who was understood to play the female lead in the upcoming Ajith-Gautham Menon film, might not eventually feature in it, according to unconfirmed reports.
It is now said that Anushka's call sheet is full and she could not allot the required dates for the Ajith starrer. The gorgeous actress is currently busy with two bilingual films -"Baabubali" (Mahabali in Tamil) and "Rudramadevi."
Both flicks are historical dramas and the actress has a matured look in the films. According to reports, director Gautham wants his film's male and female leads to look youthful. Apparently, Ajith has started hitting the gym to get the desired slim look. However, Anushka might not be able to achieve the same as she is busy with her other commitments, in one of which she appears as a warrior.
Now the buzz is that the "Deiva Thirumagal" star might not feature along with Ajith in the Gautham directorial. However, an official announcement on the film's cast and crew members is yet to be made.
The film is yet to be titled and, as of now, it has been temporarily named "Thala 55" as it is Ajith's 55th film. "Thala 55" is all set to go on floors soon, and the film's shoot is expected to commence by the second week of March. According to entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai, Gautham has completed the film's script work and it has been approved by Ajith and all others concerned.
"#Thala55 Update - Finally things r falling in place. @menongautham script approved by all concerned, casting & logistics being worked out," Sreedhar tweeted.
The film will be produced by AM Ratnam, who also produced Ajith's 2013 hit "Arrambam". Music composer Anirudh has reportedly been roped in to work on the film's soundtrack.
