After garnering appreciation for both the parts of "Gangs Of Wasseypur," Anurag Kashyap is set to bring the third part to the audience. The film's writer, Zeishan Quadri, will collaborate with Anurag to direct the upcoming film.
Zeishan, who belongs to Wasseypur, was highly appreciated for his dialogues in the film and he even featured in the second instalment. He is currently in his hometown and is finalising the plot of the story. "I came home when Ramzan began. Festival par ghar aana bhi ho gaya aur film ke liye research bhi. I will be spending a few weeks here and finalising the plot and characters while I'm here," Zeishan told the Times of India.
"It's not a sequel or a prequel. If I have to give it a term, I'd call it a mid-equal (laughs). It will have the same timeline and setting as the first two films. Which is why we aren't calling it part 3 but part 1.5. It will tell a parallel story between the two films," he added.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the third part to go on floors and according to Zeishan, it might feature some characters from the first two films as well. It had been reported that Anurag asked Zeishan to direct the upcoming instalment after watching the writer's directorial debut, "Meeruthiya Gangster."
Anurag is currently busy with his upcoming film, "Udta Punjab," which he has produced. The film was facing censor board issues as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had imposed 89 cuts in the film and asked to remove the term "Punjab" from it. The makers took the issue to Mumbai High Court and now, CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani cleared the film with "A" certificate and 13 cuts. However, the final verdict of high court is still awaited.
