A new video attacking Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump showcases a group of women reading sexist things he has said in the past. The minute-long attack advert by Our Principles PAC, features a range of Trumps quotes from before and during his presidential campaign.
Bimbo, begins one woman. Dog, says another. Fat pig, a third woman reads, as the advert is introduced. According to CNN, the super PAC led by top staffers to former presidential candidate Jeb Bush plans to spend $500,000 (£350,195) to run the video on several cable networks.
That must be a pretty picture, you dropping to your knees, another woman says, as she quotes a comment Trump made to a female contestant on his former reality TV show The Apprentice. The advert, Quotes, looks to highlight the continued accusations against the billionaire real estate mogul of sexism and misogyny.
Trump, who is hoping to further his lead for the GOP nomination on 15 March, has claimed he is going to be really good for women. However, repeated comments against female news anchor Megyn Kelly and former Republican rival Carly Fiorina dispute those claims. Still, he maintains that he cherishes women and likes to point out he supports womens health services through Planned Parenthood — excluding abortions.
Im the exact opposite. I cherish women. I want to help women. Im going to do things for women that no other candidate will be able to do. And its very important to me, Trump once told CNNs Jake Tapper on State of the Union.
CNN reported that Our Principles PAC has already spent $5.3m on-air adverts against Trump, with over $2.2m spent in Florida alone. Polls show Trump ahead of the competition, including Florida Senator Marco Rubio, in the fight for Floridas 99 delegates on 15 March.
