Sankalp Reddy's Antariksham 9000KMPH, which is set for release on December 21, has made good earnings in its pre-release business and beaten the theatrical rights' record of Varun Tej's Fidaa.
Varun Tej has set himself different from the other heroes from the mega family in several aspects, which is why his career graph has gone one step above each of his film's release. He is back with another experimental movie Antariksham 9000KMPH, which is directed by Sankalp Reddy, who grabbed many eyeballs with his creativity in Rana Daggubati's war drama Ghazi.
The promos of Antariksham 9000KMPH garnered a lot of attention and created a lot of curiosity about the film. The hype surrounding it generated a huge demand for its theatrical rights and several distribution houses were in the queue to acquire its rights.
With two days to go for the release, the makers have already sold out its distribution rights and fetched them decent sum.
Antariksham 9000KMPH has fetched Rs 16.50 crore from its theatrical rights for the Telugu states, Rs 1 crore from rest of India and Rs 3.5 crore from its overseas rights. The movie has reportedly earned a total of Rs 21 crore from the sale of its global distribution rights. It is one of the high prices in 2018.
Varun Tej's Fidaa fetched Rs 18 crore from the sale of its theatrical and became a blockbuster at the box office. After seeing its success, the makers of Tholi Prema increased the prices of its rights and sold them for Rs 23 crore, but the movie did not make expected earnings. Now, the producers of Antariksham have played it safe and priced its rights based on the earnings of both the films in various areas.
Written by Sankalp Reddy, Antariksham 9000KMPH starring Varun Tej, Aditi Rao Hydari and Lavanya Tripathi, is a science fiction space thriller film, which is the first of its kind film in the history of Telugu cinema. The genre is very popular in India and success of Hollywood movie is proof for it. But this genre has not been touched upon by Indian filmmakers.
