Ant-Man and the Wasp star Evangeline Lilly has opened up about the ordeal she faced while filming for award-winning television series Lost. The show became a cult classic, but the actress did not enjoy a great deal of her time shooting for her part.
Evangeline Lilly talked about the "trembling" experience she had while shooting a nude scene. In light of this, show's producer JJ Abrams has officially apologised to the actress.
Evangelina Lilly was a guest on The LOST boys podcast in which she talked about going partially naked for a scene in season 3. After shooting that particular scene, she cried a lot but had to come strong because she had a very strong scene to shoot after that experience.
Lilly also talked about the same distress she faced in Lost season 4, when her character, Kate, was undressing. She said she fought hard to make the writers change the scene but couldn't control anything.
"I fought very hard to have that scene be under my control. And I failed to control it again. So I then said, 'That's it, no more. You can write whatever you want — I won't do it. I will never take my clothes off on this show again.' And I didn't," she added.
In light of Evangeline Lilly's recent statements, Lost show's producer and acclaimed director J. J. Abrams said he has tried making a contact with the actress but couldn't get in touch with her. The Star Wars director released a statement to Entertainment Tonight expressing the regrets about the incident and stated that no one should feel unsafe at his or her place of work.
"Our response to Evie's comments in the media was to immediately reach out to her to profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on Lost. We have not yet connected with her, but remain deeply and sincerely sorry."
Evangelina Lilly is not the first actress in recent months to open up about terrible on-set situations they had to endure. Several Hollywood actresses have stepped into the spotlight, which reportedly started the #MeToo movement.
In professional endeavours, Evangelina Lilly's portrayal of The Wasp in the recently released Ant-Man and the Wasp was highly appreciated. The actress will continue portraying the character in Avengers 4, which is slated to release in 2019.
