Police cleared the Westfield Shopping Centre in Hornsby in Sydney after a bomb threat was reported from a cafe in the mall. However, the suspicious package was declared a hoax.
According to some reports, a man walked into Blu Water Grill cafe with a bag and claimed that it had a bomb.
The police cordoned off the mall and the surrounding area and arrested a man, according to 7 News Sydney.
The scare comes two months after a gunman walked into Sydney's Lindt Cafe and took several people hostage for close to 17 hours, before he was shot dead by the police. Two hostages were killed in the terror siege.
"Police operation at shopping centre in Hornsby now resolved. All clear," the New South Wales police tweeted.
UPDATE: Hornsby. One man in custody during police operation. No further information available at this time.
