Veteran social activist Anna Hazare will meet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the New Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi on Monday night over the amendment in the Land Acquisition Bill.
Hazare also launched a two-day protest on Monday against the anti-farmer amendments in the bill made by the BJP-led Central Government.
"This is land grab by the government; Britishers used to do this," NDTV quoted Hazare as saying while addressing hundreds of supporters at Jantar Mantar.
The Land Acquisition Act, 2013 stipulates mandatory consent of at least 70% of land owners for acquiring land for Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects and 80% for acquiring land for private companies, according to PTI.
Hazare has expressed his disapproval towards the ordinance whose amendments according to the NDA government are steps towards speeding up development projects. He said that the modifications in the ordinance would prove beneficial for the corporates and not the common man.
