Amrinder Gill's "Angrej" has turned out to be another big Punjabi money at the overseas box office in 2015, but it has failed to beat the 3-day business record of recent hit movie "Sardaar Ji".
Released in 40 screens in the United States on 31 July, "Angrej" collected $158,504 (Rs 1.01 crore) at the US box office in its first weekend. The movie has landed in the third spot, pushing "Baahubali" to the fourth place in the US business chart. But, it has failed to beat the record of the last Punjabi hit film, "Sardaar Ji".

"Angrej" has done fantastic collection in lesser number of screens at the Canada box office in its first weekend. The Punjabi movie has topped the business chart, pushing down "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Drishyam" and "Baahubali". But, it has failed to smash the record of "Sardaar Ji".

However, its per-screen average collection is apparently quite low as compared "Sardaar Ji", which had topped the UK business chart in its opening weekend.

Released in 106 screens in key international markets, "Sardaar Ji" has collected approximately US$926,718 (Rs 5.92 crore) at the overseas box office in its opening weekend. The film has been the biggest opener and highest grosser Punjabi movie in its opening weekend in 2015.
On the other hand, "Angrej" has grossed approximately US$597,405 (Rs 3.82 crore) from 80 screens at the overseas box office in its first weekend. Its per-screen average collection stands at US$7467, which is lower than that of "Sardaar Ji", which has raked in an average of US$8742 per screen in the international market.
