Earlier in the month, Nokia, in collaboration with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) partner HMD Global Oy, launched a feature-phone Nokia 150. And now, details of the Nokia-branded smartphone have surfaced online evoking excitement among fans.
A Chinese user has leaked two images of a Nokia P series smartphone on social media site Weibo revealing key design elements of the upcoming device. In the picture, the phone is shown to have a candy-bar shaped body with curved corners similar to Nokia's Windows-based Lumia series, and the back is covered with plastic-based shield with matte finish and antenna lines are seen running (horizontally) through phone on top and the bottom. Also, we see a circular camera module with single LED flash on top and just below it, Nokia is engraved vertically.
In the second image, we see the front display panel with Nokia branding on the top. The screen is in off-mode and there's very little to decipher from it.
Though the photos look real, there is one big anomaly in the pictures. There is no sign of fingerprint sensor on the front and back, thus casting a shadow of doubt over the authenticity.
Further, Chinese blog -- My Drivers, which is in possession of the images claim that Nokia P packs Qualcomm upcoming Snapdragon 835 processor and also 23MP camera Carl Zeiss lens.
The internal hardware specifications and the design language just don't add up. We believe the leaked image might be a prototype model of Nokia P and the company is still evaluating design and hardware specs for the new phone.
So, we urge our readers to take this report with the proverbial pinch of salt.
Besides Nokia P series, the company is also working on another smartphone code-named D1C. It is said to be a mid-range phone series and come in two screen sizes.
