Owners of Motorola Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus who are still yet to receive the Android 7.0 (Nougat) operating system update would seemingly be required to wait longer than expected as the OS update is yet to reach the phones. We personally checked out both the handsets, but these are still stuck on Android Marshmallow despite being very recent Motorola offerings.
Users of both the handsets expected their devices to be given top priority with respect to getting official Nougat updates. Even Motorola put up release notes on its website indicating Nougat eligibility for both the devices. This particular development got loyalists excited with respect to a potential rollout; however, Motorola was quick to say that Android Nougat was yet to begin official rollout. The Lenovo-owned company also advised users to check their phones regularly for newer OTA notifications.
Now, after almost two weeks after the above announcement, the rollout status of Android Nougat still remains the same. This has got rumour mills working overtime to hint at unofficial developments with respect to Nougat rolling out. Now, a new rumour hints at a December timeline.
However, with no official updates from Motorola, it is becoming increasingly difficult to anticipate the rollout of Android Nougat for Moto G4 and Moto G4 smartphones. Nonetheless, both the handsets, along with a barrage of others, find a place in the list of Motorola smartphones eligible to receive Android Nougat as an OS update.
